Solway Skating Club synchronised skating teams have been taking part in Westsound’s Cash for Kids event this month, and have been extremely dedicated to raising money as well as training for the upcoming competitive season.
The teams have been working hard fundraising with scratch cards giving people the chance to win £10, luxury hampers and prizes donated by local businesses in a ‘Lucky Squares’ draw and the skaters have also been using ‘Strava’, which tallies up each athletes activities, in order to gain sponsorships.
They have also had help from Solway Sharks and the Junior Curlers to create a comedy ‘Solway try-outs’ video that has been posted on the clubs Instagram, Facebook and Giving pages where donations and post shares have been encouraged.
The events end on October 1 and the teams are asking anyone who would like to help to donate to their giving link which can be found on social media platforms - Instagram - @solwaysk8ingclub and Facebook - @solwaysk8ingclub and @solwayskatingfundraising.
The skaters have worked so hard so far and thank everyone for any possible donations.
They would also like to thank those at Dumfries Ice Bowl for helping with the Cash for Kids challenge and also those who helped make the comedy video.
