Solskjaer explains why Nemanja Matic is starting for Manchester United vs Leicester

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Nemanja Matic was named in Manchester United's starting line up against Leicester in order to bring 'experience' to the midfield.

United have made one change to the side which drew against Southampton last time out with Serbia international Matic coming into the side to replace Paul Pogba.

The French midfielder misses out from the matchday squad after he withdrew from international duty last week after suffering an ankle injury in the draw at St Mary's.

United will be desperate to return to winning ways when they host Leicester on Saturday afternoon and ahead of the match Solskjaer explained his team selection.

"Paul didn't make it," the United manager told MUTV.

"Nemanja comes in. He's been chomping at the bit of course, he's got experience today."

United have won just once in the Premier League this season and have not won in any of their last three matches. Avoiding defeat is crucial this weekend, and Solskjaer wants his side to show a clinical edge in front of goal.

He added: "Yeah, you want to score and your chances. But we just want to see improvement from game to game. To keep taking on board what we are working on in training and we want three points.

"It is important in games like this. When you come to the end of the season you don't want too many draws that you should have won."
