Solskjaer drops Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard hints ahead of new Manchester United season

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard will both have a role to play at Manchester United next season.

United have already added to their forward line this summer by signing Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund for £72.9million, sprinkling extra talent to an already dangerous attack.

Solskjaer believes the deal for Sancho, 21, proves they really do mean business as they look to end their trophy drought next season, but he isn't expecting it to spell the end for either Lingard or Martial.

The duo both appear to be on the periphery at United following Sancho's transfer but Solskjaer name-dropped the pair when talking about his attacking options for next season.

When asked what Sancho would bring to Old Trafford the United manager was quick to highlight his youthfulness before explaining how he would complement those already at his disposal.

"It shows the fans that we mean business," he told Sky Sports after defeat to QPR.

"We hope that we've got one of the best forwards in England for the next 10, 12 years. We've got Marcus - 23, we've got Mason who is a young lad. So we have got an English core there and then we've got the added experience with Edinson, Anthony, Bruno, Jesse is coming back.

"So I think the forward line is looking really good."
