Solomon Wilcots backs Carson Palmer on his warning to Joe Burrow

Carson Palmer recently made major headlines by seeming to take a shot or two at the Cincinnati Bengals.

Those interviews were construed as warning shots for probable No. 1 overall pick Joe Burrow coming from a guy who would know a thing or two about the Bengals.

And now former Bengals player Solomon Wilcots has agreed with Palmer in an interview of his own on CBS with Damon Amendolara:

“Absolutely…I watched as it sucked the life out of him. I watched fans in Cincinnati dump garbage on his home, on his lawn. I watched as others advocated, tried to force the leadership on to him when he wasn’t given support…Palmer was a guy who was strong-willed, talented but needed more around him…the love for the game left him.”

As was the case with Palmer, former players are just speaking their minds as to their experience with the team at the time.

Even Palmer has admitted things have changed for the better, especially while praising the job done by Duke Tobin. But the comments from former players seem to match the national perspective of the Bengals still, which is worth noting.

The only thing the Bengals can do? Take Burrow and prove in the way they build around him that things have permanently changed for the better.
