Solar panels on church the perfect shape

We couldn't help but smile seeing the new solar panels on St David's Anglican Church, on the corner of La Perouse Street and Fortitude Street, in Red Hill.

They are in the shape of a cross.

St David's new solar panels.

That makes them perfect for a church, and for all kinds of metaphors about letting the sun shine in.

St David's has been part of the parish of Manuka since the 1960s.

Bbut is obviously hip to the groove and up on getting the latest energy-producing technology while shouting its faith from the rooftops.

The solar panels were installed late last year, under the direction of Anglicare, which runs the adjoining St David's Close retirement home.

Services at St David's are held on Sundays at 8.30am and on Thursdays at 10am if you'd like to see for yourself.
