Solange's new mini documentary shows the making of 'A Seat at the Table'

It took the better part of four years for Solange to release her third album, A Seat at the Table, and now, she’s released an 11-minute short film taking viewers behind-the-scenes of her creative process.

A Seat at the Table, Beginning Stages shows Solange and her recording crew exploring concepts and developing the tracks now known as “Don’t Touch My Hair,” “Mad,” “Don’t You Wait,” and more.

Of course, the short features appearances from some of Solange’s collaborators including Sampha, Patrick Wimberly of Chairlift, Adam Bainbridge of Kindness, Kwes, and several others.

The film was shot between August 2013 and February 2014 in Long Island, New Orleans, and New Iberia.
