Sokratis has revealed that Unai Emery is the best coach he has worked under following his move to Arsenal last summer.
With the Gunners having a number of problems in defence prior to the Spaniard's arrival last May, one of his first bits of business was to sign the centre-back from Borussia Dortmund.
The 30-year-old has caught the eye during his short time in north London following his transfer, netting three goals in his 39 appearances in all competitions for the club.
Playing under the likes of Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel at Dortmund, as well as Massimiliano Allegri at AC Milan, Sokratis believes that Emery is the best coach he has had the pleasure of playing under after improving his game during his first year in the capital.
"There’s a lot of differences. But to be a big manager at this level, you have to be a good person," he said, as reported by The Mirror .
"Our manager here at Arsenal is very good off the pitch with the players. But also he’s the best coach I’ve had in my career – I say that because I have improved a lot under him.
"I play faster than one, two or three years ago. I think more and I make better decisions. His coaches do a lot of individual work with us.
"You can also see that because of the number of young players coming through. I have improved and it’s because he and his coaches did this."
