Software firm Asolvi to create new Hull jobs as it moves offices

Global software company Asolvi has moved to new offices in Hull after its acquisition of PC Data last year.

Asolvi, which specialises in fire safety and security software, officially unveiled its new home at Riverside Building in Hessle on Thursday, January 16.

It comes after the company – which was founded in Norway and now has bases across Europe – completed a takeover of PC Data in July 2019.

Asolvi said the move would enable to the company to expand its team of around 15 in the near future.

Pal Rodseth, CEO at Asolvi, said: “We acquired PC Data last summer, and one common theme when we make an acquisition is, when you walk into an office, we want you to immediately recognise where you are and what the company is.

“It became evident after the PC Data deal that we needed to move offices. We consulted with staff about where they wanted to be, and they have very much been a part of the journey here.

“PC Data had built up over a number of years a deep competence in the fire alarm software market. We had come across them mainly as a competitor.

“The team from PC Data transferred across to Asolvi last summer, and now have moved to this new office.”

PC Data was previously based in Boothferry Road in Hull.

Asolvi has now completed its office move from its former home to new offices in Riverside Building, Hessle.

Today, Asolvi has more than 1,500 customers in 30 countries around the world.

In recent years, Asolvi has significantly increased its UK presence.

The deal to buy PC Data last summer was its fourth UK acquisition.

Mr Rodseth said: “The UK is a large market, which has many players, but it is also a fragmented market.

“We are a digital business which ships its goods using digital platforms, so we will not be impacted by Brexit and having to wait at customs or anything like that.

“We provide tech solutions to businesses of all sizes – from your man with a van, right up to companies who have multiple buildings.”

The consecutive acquisitions of Tesseract, WS Software, Purpose Software, Vantage Computing and PC Data were in line with Asolvi’s strategy to become the leading provider of field service management systems for SMEs in Europe.
