Software firm Aforza creating 100 jobs in Cardiff

Tech start-up company Aforza is creating 100 jobs in Cardiff.

The cloud software provider for the consumer goods industry, opened a research and development lab in the city last year.

Longer term it plans to expand to as many as 300 employees globally, with Cardiff tipped as the location to drive R&D growth.

It has established a base at the Tramshed Tech, the co-working hub focused on the tech and cyber industries.

It specialises in supplying a complete end-to-end software solution for consumer goods companies that helps them to plan, promote and sell their products more efficiently.

Its latest expansion is being backed with £900,000 grant support from the Welsh Government’s Economy Futures Fund.

The company is also backed by key Silicon Valley investors.

Deputy Minister for Economy and Transport, Lee Waters said: “It’s fantastic news that Aforza is creating an additional 100 jobs in Cardiff, especially given the severe impact coronavirus has placed on our economy.

“It’s clear the company is on the rise and its plans for growth puts them in a strong position for the future.

“The tech sector in Wales has an absolutely crucial role in our economic recovery as we cope with the impact of the pandemic and businesses like Aforza must and will be at the very heart of that going forward.

“I’m delighted we have been able to provide important financial support to the company which will be vital in helping them deliver their goals. Their growth is also a testament to the skilled workforce we have here in Wales.”

Aforza chief executive, Dominic Dinardo said: "The grant from the Welsh Government has been pivotal in our decision to base our R&D and customer support operations in Cardiff, creating new jobs in the region now and in the future.

“In the last few months alone, in what have been very challenging times, it has given us the confidence to grow our team in Cardiff by over one third. I would like to personally thank the Welsh Government for its support and innovation in making this happen."
