IT HAS been a tough year for Santa. Usually December is prime time for jolly Saint Nicholas to meet all the boys and girls, hear about their Christmas wishes and snap a nice family photo but the coronavirus has made it a very different experience for all involved.
"Santa has been hovering in the background," Jasey Stanley from Photos with Sandy Claus said.
"It has been tough for poor old Santa because he just wants to give the kids cuddles and high-fives. Thankfully everyone has really adapted quite beautifully to this year's changes."
She said excitement around Christmas started much earlier this year as people looked towards a bit of magic to brighten up 2020.
While Ms Stanley thought all was lost for her Christmas photo business when lockdowns started, as soon as restrictions eased she came up with a plan to make sure local families could still get their snap with Santa.
Santa has been pushed to the background of pictures, pulling buggies, boxing, elbow-bumping and even surfing in his 2020 pictures.
"It has been a chaotic year, I am just so grateful to all the beautiful families who supported my business," she said.
"And I hope we can go back to normal next year."
