Social media users share celebrity encounters with Harry Potter stars

Social media users have shared their experiences of meeting stars of the Harry Potter franchise.

One Mumsnet user asked her fellow peers on the forum what their best and worst celebrity experiences were, as comments flooded in.

Many had good and bad sightings, with the original poster discussing her friend meeting the Girls Aloud band.

The post read: "Who is the nicest celeb you've met? On the flip side who was not nice?

"I had a friend who met Girl's Aloud after she won a competition. They waited hours to met them, waiting for them to arrive.

"Apparently Nadine was lovely, chatted and genuinely seemed interested to meet them. Sarah & Nicola not so nice, very mardy and diva-ish."

Comments rolled in, and several Harry Potter actors were praised for their like-ability and kindness when meeting fans.

One Mumsnet user wrote: "Tom Felton [Draco Malfoy] came across as really lovely and down to earth.

"Sat behind him in an outside bar in Venice Beach. He was clearly just out for a quiet drink in the late afternoon, after skateboarding up beside the beach.

"We decided to leave him be as he didn't look like he was in 'celeb' mode. He knew we had spotted him though as my daughter's whisper was a little louder than it could have been!!

"A couple of girls did speak to him and he seemed really polite with them. When we left, he gave my daughter a lovely smile, wave and did a little trick on his board before skating off again."

Another complimented late actor Robbie Coltrane, who played friendly giant Hagrid. They said: "Robbie Coltrane was a boisterous and engaging raconteur."

Alan Rickman, who played Severus Snape, was also named as a lovely person, as one Mumsnet user wrote: "My dad knew Alan Rickman and he was absolutely lovely."

Harry Potter himself was also named as a good celebrity sighting, as another said: "Daniel Radcliffe very polite, met him at a garden party."

Helena Bonham-Carter, who plays Bellatrix Lestrange, was also named in the thread, as the poster wrote: "Helena Bonham-Carter funny and sparky."
