Social media reacts to RTE's heartbreaking documentary on Brendan Grace

RTE's documentary series on legendary entertainer Brendan Grace continued last night - and it provoked a huge reaction on social media.

The three-part series 'Brendan Grace - Thanks for the Memories' began last week, leaving many viewers in tears with a particularly poignant clip showing Brendan in his hospital bed just three days before he passed away.

The show had originally set out to follow the legendary comic preparing to put on a variety show with the Forget-Me-Nots community choir for dementia sufferers.

But as Brendan became ill, the documentary focused on his battle with cancer, which the Dubliner tragically lost on July 11.

And last night's episode was just as moving as the first, following Brendan and the Forget-Me-Nots as they visited Michael D Higgins at Áras an Uachtárain, before performing for the President.

The show provoked a huge reaction on social media once again, with several fans quick to thank Brendan's family for allowing the film to be broadcast after the comedian's tragic death in July.

One viewer claimed that the series was "the best documentary RTE has ever done", while another described the show as a "wonderful, life-affirming piece of television".

Here is the best of the reaction to another emotional episode:
