Social media reacts to Joe Brolly missing from RTE coverage of historic Dublin five-in-a-row

Gaelic football fans lamented the absence of Joe Brolly on social media as Dublin won an historic fifth consecutive All-Ireland football championship this evening.

The Derry pundit was replaced on the RTE panel for Saturday's All-Ireland final replay by Stephen Rochford after Brolly questioned the decision-making of referee David Gough in the drawn All-Ireland final.

Brolly and fellow pundit Ciaran Whelan took issue with Gough for showing Dublin's Jonny Cooper a second yellow card for fouling David Clifford.

Whelan called it a “disgraceful” decision, while Brolly went as far as saying that the referee was “clearly influenced by the propaganda coming from Kerry”.

And fans clearly missed him on the broadcast, taking to Twitter to voice their dissatisfaction with his absence from their screens.
