The New York Giants completed the season sweep of the Washington Commanders Sunday with a 31-19 win at FedEx Field.
The Commanders sacked Giants rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito nine times. It was the first time since 1984 that a team finished with nine or more sacks and lost by double digits.
The reason: Washington turned the ball over six times. The turnovers overshadowed anything positive the Commanders did — which wasn’t much.
It was another frustrating day for quarterback Sam Howell, who sandwiched in three excellent games between his last performance against the Giants in Week 7 and on Sunday.
