Social media reacts to 'brilliant' Sean Boylan documentary on RTE

A documentary on legendary Meath manager Sean Boylan has received rave reviews after airing on RTE on Thursday night.

'Sean' tells the story of how the Dunboyne man led the Royal County to four All-Ireland titles.

Recently retired jockey and Meath native Barry Geraghty said on the documentary: "A brilliant documentary on Seán Boylan what a gentleman manager and friend to all always trying to help out no matter what the sport injury or problem."

Current Meath footballer Andrew Tormey tweeted: "A lot of people say don’t meet your heroes but when you meet Sean Boylan you realize that saying can’t be true cause he is the biggest gent and legend you’ll ever come across!! 1 of the best documentaries I’ve ever watched.. What a man."

Galway footballer Gary Sice commented: "Great show on Sean Boylan.Humble, passionate,honest and a winner.Some man..."

Former Clare hurler Anthony Daly simply wrote: "Boylan some man."

Fine Gael MEP Sean Kelly said: "Wonderful documentary @rte on @MeathGAA legendary manager, #SeanBoylan .What a man! 3 Leagues, 8 Leinsters & 4 All Ir.’s. No ‘shyness’ on the field by @MeathGAA ! Hope Meath bounce back. #Sean , the herbalist, a fab. fellow, would do anything to help someone."

Another Twitter user posted: "Incredible man is Sean Boylan. Can never thank him enough for everything I learned from him & Still to this day he would do anything for you. True legend."

Someone else said: "Really enjoyed the #SeanBoylan documentary. What a phenomenal record he had with @MeathGAA. Loved that 86-91 team in particular. Full of footballing giants."

Another person added: "I just love Seán Boylan so much, what an absolute legend! Best thing I’ve seen on telly in a very long time."
