Social media reacts as Teresa Mannion returns for RTE's coverage of Storm Lorenzo

Teresa Mannion was back in action tonight reporting on Storm Lorenzo - four years after her famous live broadcast on Storm Desmond.

Ireland is currently bracing for the impact of the storm as strong winds and rain move across the country.

Forecast maps are now showing the ex-hurricane moving across the north and west of the country later tonight.

However most areas will be hit, with some places currently being battered by strong gusts as the first winds associated with the storm make landfall.

Strong winds have been reported at Lahinch in Co Clare, but also on the east of the country at Hook Lighthouse in Co Wexford.

Four weather warnings have been issued by Met Eireann as the vortex continues to hurtle towards Ireland.

But it was the return of Teresa Mannion that had everyone talking after the Nine O'Clock news.

The journalist shot to fame in 2015 after her news report on Storm Desmond live from Galway.

She famously urged the public not to make "unnecessary journeys" or take risks on "treacherous roads".

And Teresa was back in action tonight reporting on the potentially dangerous conditions from Storm Lorenzo, provoking a huge reaction on social media.
