Social media reacts as Ryan Tubridy sings on Late Late Show Country Special

RTE viewers were left both bemused and entertained last night as Ryan Turbidy turned into a country music star on a special airing of The Late Late Show.

Host Turbidy was joined by country music idols Daniel O’Donnell, Nathan Carter, Cliona Hagan, Mike Denver, Michael English, Robert Mizzell, Derek Ryan and Trudi Lalor.

The show has quickly become a hugely anticipated annual tradition, and once again it provoked a big reaction on social media.

One described Tubs trying his hand at country singing as the "highlight" of the show, while another was shocked by the veteran broadcaster's dulcet tones.

Meanwhile beloved singer Daniel O'Donnell was as popular as ever with viewers as he was inducted into the Irish Country Music Hall of Fame, with one describing the Donegal man as a "national treasure".
