Normal People’s Paul Mescal has become the talk of the town after the TV adaptation of Sally Rooney’s novel catapulted onto the screen this week.
Between controversy over his saucy sex scenes and the surge in popularity for his GAA shorts, the 24-year-old has quickly become a household name.
And the breakthrough star, who revealed his screen debut was his role for a Denny’s sausages advert, admitted it has been a bit crazy trying to get to grips with all the attention.
He said: “It’s unprecedented for me in the sense that this is my first time doing something like this so I’ve nothing to really measure it off.
"But it’s been a crazy 48 hours, with messages from friends talking about the project.”

And when asked if he has received any work offers since the series aired, he added: “It’s quiet at the moment but fingers crossed.
“I’m not so much trying to think about that at the moment. I just want to enjoy the next few weeks.”
The 12-part show based on Sally Rooney's best-selling novel was released this week on both RTE and BBC.
It has received universal praise on radio shows, reviews sites and newspapers since its release - but not everyone is a fan as RTE's Liveline with Joe Duffy was lit up with callers outraged about the show's content.
Directory Lenny Abrahamson saw the funny side however sharing a picture on Twitter of a bewildered looking Joe Duffy in the RTE studio with the caption "Poor Joe".
And Paul chimed in replying to the tweet sarcastically writing "You should be ashamed."
