Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook showed up to support teammate Hamidou Diallo Saturday night at the Slam Dunk Contest, and although he didn’t dunk, he assisted his rookie in the event.
Diallo caught a pass off of the side of the backboard from Westbrook and windmilled the dunk in with his off-hand, a dunk that earned a score of 48 from the panel of judges.
While the dunk was certainly the best, and earned the highest score in the first round, it was Westbrook’s outfit that completely stole the show early and social media reacted accordingly.
The event proved to be rather memorable for Diallo in his first Slam Dunk Contest but the outfit Westbrook wore was a highlight for many watching, too.
