Summary
"Diversity in Social Enterprise" (DISE UK) focuses on inclusion. It aims to highlight the diversity of the people, the goods and services and the creativity in this sector for the benefit of engagement, celebration and networking across the UK and beyond. To DISE UK, "Diversity in Social Enterprise" means diversity in terms of diverse businesses, diverse people, diverse social impact and diverse social values.
At present, DISE is mostly engaging an audience through social media and use tools such as Klout and Commun_It to gauge impact. It is helping people to gain access free of charge to information to help start, grow or build a social enterpirse and to aid others to understand the sector in order to cross-trade.
DISE's social impact is about inclusion and making sure that information is available to as many groups as possible rather than being available only to those able to obtain it or pay for it.
DISE's conference in Global Entrepreneurship Week on Social Enterprise Day was awarded the High Impact Badge of Honour.
