Social Enterprise UK will be attending the Liberal Democrat, Labour and Conservative party conferences, and hosting a series of private meetings at the Liberal Democrat and Labour conferences, as well as a public fringe event at the Conservative party conference.

The Liberal Democrat meeting will be attended by the business minister Ed Davey MP, senior Lib Dem peer Lord Newby and prominent social entrepreneur - and Lib Dem councillor - Craig Dearden-Phillips. The Labour party conference meeting will feature shadow Treasury minister David Hanson MP, shadow health and social care minister Emily Thornberry MP and the former communities secretary Hazel Blears. At the Conservative party conference, SE UK will be speaking to the minister for civil society Nick Hurd.

SE UK's Conservative party fringe event is on the theme of "Fightback Britain: Creating an economy that profits society" and takes place from 12.30-2pm on Tuesday 4th October at the Palace Hotel in Manchester. The event will explore SE UK's flagship report "Fightback Britain", which presents the findings of the latest State of Social Enterprise Survey.  The Guardian's very own Patrick Butler will chair proceedings and speakers include SE UK chief executive Peter Holbrook and director of social wnterprise at Microsoft John Coulthard.

The Social Investment Business is holding fringe meetings at the Lib Dem conference, where deputy leader Simon Hughes MP appears on a panel discussing "The Rise of the Disaffected Citizen: What happens when mainstream politicians fail to deliver prosperity and economic security?". The fringe at Labour party conference a week later is on the same topic with shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper appearing. At the Conservative party conference a week later, health secretary Andrew Lansley is the main draw, at a fringe entitled "Partners Not Victims: Engaging the public in the reform of its services".
