Soccer Aid's Harry Redknapp says 'there's nowhere like it' as he heaps praise on Liverpool

Harry Redknapp is set to take to the field tonight for Soccer Aid.

The I'm A Celebrity winner will lead out a star-studded side that will feature a combination of legendary footballers and celebrities hoping to raise thousand of pounds for Unicef. The match vs the Rest of the World is being broadcast live on ITV and will take place at Old Trafford stadium.

The charity game has been a huge success ever since the first edition was set up by Robbie Williams back in 2006. Harry has selected fellow jungle royalty, Jill Scott as his captain for tonight's game.

This will be Redknapp's eighth edition of Soccer Aid as he aims to bounce back from last year's penalty defeat. He will be joined in the dugout by Stormzy, Emma Hayes, Vicky McClure and David Seaman .

Away from the pitch, Redknapp is also a successful racehorse owner and he was thrilled to visit Aintree for the first time in April as his horse competed in the Grand National race. He told the ECHO: "To be here for the Grand National is amazing. It's a big day in Liverpool. The people come out in their thousands."

The former West Ham manager said he always enjoys visiting the city, which will always have a special place in his heart as his son, Jamie Redknapp, lived here when he was captain of Liverpool FC.

He said: "I love Liverpool. I love Anfield. I used to love going to Anfield. The atmosphere, the fans when they sing You'll Never Walk Alone...there's nowhere in the world like it."

Redknapp was renowned as a savvy operator in the transfer market during his time in football. He provided the ECHO with some transfer gossip that has since been proven true as Jude Bellingham joined Real Madrid this week. He told the ECHO in April: "I've heard - I don't know if I'm right - that he wants to go to Real Madrid.

"It's difficult...amazing club again. Good lifestyle in Spain. That's what I've heard anyway."
