Soccer Aid gets Brian Clough, young man

Soccer Aid is back! The ITV charity footie match will this year feature an England team captained by Robbie Williams (as usual) and a Welsh, sorry, Rest of the World side led by none other than award-winning actor Michael Sheen. No word on whether Sheen will be playing as Tony Blair (central midfielder who keeps drifting further to the right) or Sir David Frost (plays through the keyhole behind the front two). Brian Clough, who Sheen portrayed in The Damned United, would presumably be most appropriate. Other names confirmed include a couple of chaps from JLS (Marvin Humes and Aston Merrygold, if you insist), Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Theakston, plus ex-pros Teddy Sheringham and Edwin van der Sar. The whole thing will be broadcast live on ITV1 on 27 May, with Dermot O'Leary presenting. What price Simon Cowell stripping off his tracksuit in aid of Unicef? The fourth Soccer Aid match since the first in 2006, tickets are on sale at itv.com/socceraid.
