Soap stars lead cast in stage comedy Boeing-Boeing on 2020 UK tour including Nottingham's Theatre Royal

The West End and Broadway hit comedy Boeing-Boeing is to return to Nottingham on a 2020 UK tour starring familiar faces from the small screen.

Tom Lister (Emmerdale) and Daniel Casey (Midsomer Murders, EastEnders) lead the cast on this new production, directed by Guy Unsworth (Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em).

The parody, set in the mid-1960s, is the story of lothario Bernard, who has three fiancés - all flight attendants with different airlines - kept blissfully unaware of each other's existence until Boeing launch a new, faster aeroplane. As a result, all three women arrive at the same airport simultaneously.

It was written by French playwright Marc Camoletti and first staged in 1962. Tony Curtis and Jerry Lewis starred in the film adapatation in  1965.

The stage revival in 2007 spawned numerous UK tours. A Broadway revival followed in 2008, earning Mark Rylance a Tony Award.

It runs at the Theatre Royal from Monday, April 27 to Saturday, May 2. Performances are at 7.30pm (Mon-Sat), 2pm (Wed) and 2.30pm (Sat). Tickets are £16.50 - £36.50 from the box office, 0115 989 5555 and trch.co.uk.
