Soap star Robin Strasser finds new scenery in Thousand Oaks

Aug. 05--Robin Strasser of "One Life to Live" fame has cast herself as a bicoastal resident with the purchase of a home in Ventura County.

The actress and native New Yorker recently paid $975,000 for a two-story home in the Newbury Park area of Thousand Oaks.

Set on half an acre in a gated community, the house features a brick-lined walkway, a fire pit, a barbecue island and a swimming pool with raised spa and a waterfall.

Within the nearly 3,000 square feet of space is a step-down living room with vaulted ceilings and a fireplace that opens to a formal dining room. Other areas include a family room with a fireplace, an eat-in kitchen, four bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Large picture windows take in grounds containing mature oaks and views of the surrounding hillsides.

The house came on the market last year for $1.15 million and was more recently priced at $1.119 million, property records show.

Linda Hutchings of White House Properties had the listing. G.R. Arnold of First American Real Estate represented Strasser in the sale, according to the Multiple Listing Service.

Strasser, 70, has had a prolific television career, with appearances on such shows as "Knots Landing," "Coach" and "All My Children." She is best known for her role as Dorian Lord on the long-running daytime soap opera "One Life to Live," for which she won a Daytime Emmy.
