'So poor, Coventry fans are trying to cheer us up' - Bristol Rovers supporters react to 2-0 defeat

Any optimism that the midweek Carabao Cup triumph over Cheltenham Town was a turning point was quickly extinguished as Bristol Rovers were well-beaten 2-0 by Coventry City .

Although the margin of defeat was only two goals what was particularly troubling for the travelling Gasheads was the fact that despite fielding an attacking line-up with Kyle Bennett behind Jonson Clarke-Harris and Tyler Smith, Rovers didn't manage a single shot on target.

With one point from three games and no goals scored, and continual concerns over the lack of width in the team - something that Graham Coughlan has worked hard over the summer to try and correct - the consensus is it's going to be a long and hard season.

The Gas have a quick opportunity to correct things when they take on Tranmere on Tuesday but here's a round-up of comments across social media with many unsuable due to the language and we've tried to be as balanced as possible.

There were some crumbs of positivity on Facebook from these fans ...

Ryan Curtis: "I wasn’t there today so hard to comment but from what I’ve heard it wasn’t the best. However we are at the start of the season. We’ve had bad starts before and the team need time under them to get it right tactically.

"It’s business as usual for us unfortunately but optimistic for the next game"

Cameron George Beatty: "You know what you're getting into when you support a lower league team. It can be dross. But we love our team win lose or draw."
