Between the men’s singles Wimbledon Final and the Euro 2020 Final, Sunday was an absolutely massive sports day in London. The exact kind of day — with major events around the city — that one would expect to see a staggering level of security.
That didn’t appear to be the case, though.
In the lead-up to Sunday’s final between England and Italy, the scene around Wembley Stadium turned hectic when hundreds of fans (if not more), breached security gates and stormed past helpless stewards to enter the stadium grounds.
At one point, police officers on horseback responded to the breach, but fans continued to storm into the stadium without tickets.
