Chelsea fans were all in agreement over former striker Alvaro Morata after his performance for Spain on Monday evening.
The ex-Blues’ forward was selected to lead the line for the three-time European champions in Seville for their opening group game against Sweden.
He didn’t have a game to remember though, struggling to really make an impact, whilst also spurning a glorious first-half opportunity to claim the lead as he fired wide when one-on-one with Swedish goalkeeper Robin Olsen. The striker was eventually substituted off in the second period.
It was certainly a familiar sight for Chelsea fans having seen Morata struggle at Stamford Bridge following a big-money move from Real Madrid in 2017.
After his arrival in West London, Morata enjoyed a bright start but soon faded and left the club having scored just 24 goals in 72 appearances in a blue shirt.
He was then allowed to leave the club for Atletico Madrid on-loan before joining the Spanish giants on a permanent deal.
The 28-year-old spent last season with former club Juventus, scoring 20 goals in all competitions.
Following Morata’s miss, Chelsea fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
The Spanish striker, who has so far netted 19 goals in 40 appearances for his country, will certainly be hoping to recover his form for the remainder of the tournament.

They have not failed to progress from the group stages since the 2004 edition of the tournament in Portugal.
