Five weeks into lockdown due to the coronavirus outbreak, life is starting to look majorly different.
In some cases this is for the better, with exercising and healthy eating taking over people’s lives and DIY becoming everyone’s forte.
But some tasks should definitely be left to the professionals, including cutting hair.
Barbers and salons are closed for the foreseeable future, hairstyles across the UK are getting out of hand as people attempt to cut their own hair.
Since it's cheap and virtually impossible to get wrong, many have taken to giving themselves a buzz cut, but others don’t want to be so bold - and they’ve had some disastrous results.
We asked ECHO readers if they’d tried to cut their own hair, and to share their efforts with us on Facebook.
The responses were hilarious - and sometimes even inspiring.
Mandy Doyle Fitzgerald shared her grandson’s new haircut and said: “My daughter's boyfriend shaved my grandsons, Kayden, hair last week.
“When he got this far he told Kayden the clippers had broken! Needless to say after Kayden had threw a fit he took the rest off.”
Ian Bowden cut his son’s hair and likened it to an 80s film when he said: “Cut my lad's tonight, Mrs isn’t happy, bit lopsided but better than looking like something out of 80s Grange Hill.”
Adam Dixon shared his good deed of raising funds for Alder Hey and shared his photo. Adam wrote: “Me and 3 others have bicced our head for Alder Hey and raised £1150.”
Jack Johnson shared a photo of his grandson, who’s three brothers cut his hair; he said: “Grandson Charlie, his three brothers all had a try cutting it, Howay the Toon!”
Sarah Maryon tried cutting her own hair, and didn’t seem too impressed with her own hairdressing skills. She said: "So it went a bit wrong."
Ian Taylor wrote: “Cut my lads hair for the first time since lockdown yesterday”.
Katie Balmer took the plunge and let her daughter cut her hair, she wrote: “Let my daughter age 13 cut my hair.”
Louise Knight tried her hand at hairdressing too, and said: “As you can see I’m not a hairdresser lol.”
Paul Baker just wrote: “Bloody marvelous.”
