The SNP is under pressure to announce a full ban on fracking after accidentally publishing plans early on its website.
The Scottish Government released a document yesterday confirming “no support” for the controversial mining practice.
But opposition parties will today call for tougher action after an official statement in Holyrood.
Green Party MSP Mark Ruskell welcomed “much-needed clarity” but said the devil would be in the detail.
In 2017, energy minister Paul Wheelhouse said an “effective ban” had been put in place but this was challenged by Ineos.
The energy firm lost the case, with a judge ruling that under the law there was no ban on the practice.
