SNP hold Paisley seat as George Adam seals third term

The SNP's George Adam has secured his place as Paisley's MSP for a third term.

Following a lengthy count at Braehead Arena, the politician - who has represented the town since the seat was formed in 2011 - was handed another five years in Holyrood as he scooped up almost 18,000 votes.

He finished ahead of Labour's Neil Bibby who took second place with 11,420 votes.

The Conservatives' Russell Findlay took third place with 3,342, Green Party candidate Scott Bevan attracted 1,584 in fourth place, while Liberal Democrat Eileen McCartin finished bottom of the pile with 1,124 votes.
