SNP dragged on Twitter for using a pic of Glasgow to advertise their Edinburgh conference

The SNP are getting trolled on Twitter after using a photo of iconic Glasgow landmark the Finnieston Crane to advertise their conference - which was held in Edinburgh on 27 and 28 April.

In a promoted Tweet, the SNP said:

"The biggest political gathering in Scotland is about to get underway.

"Watch live as the #SNP19 conference kicks off in Edinburgh."

However, the image in the tweet was a picture of the Clyde skyline, featuring the Hydro and Finnieston Crane.

The SNP edited the tweet, but not before people had clocked the error.

People were (of course) quick to point out their mistake.

@ Dennynews shared a screenshot of the tweet, saying:

"Edinburgh's famous Finnieston Crane"

Other commenters said:

"Isn't there something about organising p*ss-ups in breweries?

"Not content with not knowing its ar*e from its elbow, the SNP can't tell the difference between Edinburgh and Glasgow!"

"And they run the country???????"

The replacement tweet (featuring the correct city) also got it's share of jokey and rude comments, so they basically couldn't win at that point.

Still, you had one job, etc.
