Snowdonia National Park bosses have apologised for their accidental ‘sex’ post on Facebook.
The authority had meant to ask people if they were intending to visit Ogwen in North Wales 'in the near future'.
But an automatic Welsh language translation blunder meant that the post instead asked people if they were 'intending to visit Ogwen area sex', NorthWalesLive reports.
The original post read: "Ydych chi'n bwriadu ymweld ag ardal Ogwen rhyw ben?".
This translates as: "Are you intending to visit the Ogwen area in the near future?".
But Facebook's automatic translation meant that English-speaking visitors saw 'are you intending to visit the Ogwen area sex?'.
According to the BBC, the translation software appears to have been confused the word rhyw, which when viewed on its own means 'sex' - but doesn’t when phrased in this way.
The Park Authority saw the funny side of the error, but apologised all the same.
Snowdonia National Park Authority responded online by saying: "Oh dear! Seems that the Facebook translate version has come up with something a bit different to the original Welsh version!
"Apologies for any offence caused!"
