Snowdonia has been crowned the best of the UK's 15 national parks, thanks to its incredible array of wildlife, beautiful scenery and impressive amount of hiking trails and footpaths.
The Welsh hotspot has topped the list which looked at everything from the scenery and attractions in each park, to the biodiversity of the region.
In the research from Brecon Beacons Holiday Cottages, Snowdonia ranked highly thanks to 14,580 species of wildlife and 2,723 km of permissible footpaths. Oh, and the fact that it's been named the most biodiverse national park in the UK didn't hurt either.
Of course the national park has long attracted intrepid explorers as it's home to Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales.
The winding trails to the top offer up some spectacular views en route, although for those who aren't seasoned hikers or ramblers or don't fancy the climb, the Snowdon Mountain Railway offers equally beautiful views for far less effort.
Meanwhile historic sites like Conwy Castle, Caernarfon Castle and the Roman complex of Tomen y Mur have never failed to be a hit with explorers.
Then there are the countless market towns and villages where you can find plenty of charming shops, B&Bs, cottages and restaurants for a dreamy getaway.

Snowdonia wasn't the only park to impress in the rankings. The Yorkshire Dales came second in the top 10 list, which just last year became an officially recognised International Dark Sky Reserve thanks to the incredible views to be found including the Milky Way, meteors and even, sometimes, the Northern Lights.
Meanwhile the Lake District took the third spot in the rankings, not to mention it was unveiled as the most visited national park in the UK. The good news is that if the lakes are on your radar, there are ways to visit on a budget. For a start there are some great cheap deals for summer 2021, not to mention we've also done some of the leg work and rounded up the best cheap hotels in the Lake District to give you a helping hand.
