Snow warning: Yet another Met Office alert for rubbish weather in place for parts of Scotland

Another day, another Met Office weather warning.

Forecasters have put a yellow alert in place for parts of the country with snow and ice expected to hit.

Thankfully Edinburgh looks set to dodge the storm this time around, although anyone using the A702 and M8 heading to Glasgow might want to know about what the Met Office are saying.

So what are they saying? Well, "wintry showers and icy stretches" are likely with roads and railways to be impacted. Journey times could be longer on bus and train journeys, while there could also be icy patches on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.

The warning will be in place from 10pm tonight (Wednesday) and continue until 10am tomorrow.

In Edinburgh things are likely to stay dry until 6pm, with rain expected early in the evening. Temperatures could fall to around 2C or 1C – but feeling like minus-three or minus-four.

Clear skies are forecast for much of the afternoon, with similar conditions expected in the city on Thursday.
