After Hobart experienced its warmest October on record, snow has returned to the state.
And more is on the way.
Snow fell to 600 metres in the south and 900 metres in the north last night.
The Weather Bureau said Tasmanians should expect showers and possible hail about the west and south, extending statewide tomorrow.
Snowfalls can again be expected as low as around 800 metres.
Temperatures today rose to the mid-teens, with a high of eighteen in St Helens.
On kunanyi/Mt Wellington the top temperature was 1.0 degree.
The road to the mountain summit has been closed by snow.
Warm weather was dominant in Tasmania during October, in marked contrast to a cool September.
