Two huge lorries had to be hauled to safety after being trapped in blizzard conditions on an Ayrshire road.
A rescue mission was launched after the Glasgow-bound trucks got trapped amid horror weather yesterday.
Carrick Resillience, a non-profit charity who provide logistical and welfare support to locals and emergency services in extreme weather, received an alert from cops.
The team's Andrew Girvan told the Record: "We've not got any official agreement with the police but all the local officers know about us and know what we can do.

"We got the call initially to say a small van was stuck and when we got there we came across the two lorries that had been there for three hours.
"The blue lorry was easily assisted up the icy road with the help from our 4x4.
"Once free the blue lorry was able to help the white lorry who was stuck in the ditch."
Five team members had quickly raced in 4x4s to the scene.
And they found the lorries, which had been stranded for more than three hours.
The team escorted one lorry back to Straiton and the other to Glentrool.
Andrew added: "On our way back we came across a smaller van and a car and we pulled them out as well.
"To be fair that road is quite bad at the best of times, we've been up there in excess of 30 times helping stranded vehicles.
"The road only gets gritted once a day and as there's not much traffic on it the grit doesn't get a chance to do its job."
Carrick Resilience boast a team of 20 volunteers.
