Snow has hit parts of Bristol and people have mixed feelings

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice yesterday and some of the white stuff has already been falling in and around Bristol this morning.

An eyewitness to the snow told Bristol Live: "Snowing in St George. Really hard to get pics or video though as light very poor and it's not settling (yet?)"

People across Twitter have been seeing some snow falling across Bristol this morning but sadly the white stuff is yet to pitch.

People like Zoe Saunders are wondering when winter will be over. She tweeted: "Left Bristol in the sleet and snow this morning - winter is back what happened to spring?"

Others like Donna were torn between excitement and dread about the possibility of snow. She tweeted: "It's snowing. Big wet flakes that will be gone in 1 minute, but it's still snow and my inner child is jumping with excitement.

"Adult me is groaning, wondering how it will affect the Bristol to London train today."

Others were simply not getting into the spirit of celebrating the snow, TUCO tweeted: "Shut up about SNOW this isn't snow Oh and there isn't any in Bristol."

Heavier snow has been falling across Gloucestershire this morning and has pitched on roads such as the A417 Crickley Hill and in the Forest of Dean.

It's unlikely that the snow will continue to fall this morning and weather conditions are expected to brighten up from 11am onwards.
