Leeds is set for snow on Easter Monday as temperatures plummet overnight.

The warmer, sunny weekend weather will be followed by a cold snap on Easter Monday with predictions of light snow showers.

The Bank Holiday weekend came just after lockdown restrictions eased and the freedom to see six friends or family members outdoors for a much needed catch up.

But while many have been enjoying getting out in the sunshine over the past few days, it seems today will be the last of it as temperatures plummet overnight.

A much colder day is expected tomorrow with a strong northerly wind and coastal gales, which will bring hail and snow showers, with a maximum temperature of 7 °C. in the city.

When will it snow?

Snow is predicted between 6am and 7am, with temperatures between 0-1 degrees from 6am to 11am.

The early snow showers will give way to clouds and some sunshine, but it will stay very cold.

Temperatures will be between 3-6 degrees for most of the day, rising to 7°C at 4pm.

It will be a windy and cold day with a mix of sunny spells and snow showers.
