A cold front coming in from the west next week may bring with it the ACT's first sprinkle of snow for the year.
After below average temperatures heading into winter this week, the Bureau of Meteorology has forecast the possibility of snow next Thursday and Friday.
Snow could potentially fall on the Brindabellas, and there's even a chance it could make it to Belconnen.
Kosciuszko National Park would also benefit, with snow predicted just days before the June long weekend's official opening of the ski season. Perisher plans to start its snow season early, from Friday.
Bureau meteorologist Helen Reid said the bureau was watching next week's cold break closely to see exactly where it would have its focal point.
"We are expecting to see snow down to quite low levels, so quite likely we'll see some in the Brindabellas," she said.

"It's likely to be the first really noticeable cold outbreak right across the state."
Ms Reid said even if it wasn't snowing in Canberra next week, it would feel like it should be.
"We are expecting it to be quite, quite cold," she said
"We are expecting widespread cold air and snow levels are going to be dropping quite a lot."
Canberra can expect cold weather this weekend too, with forecasters predicting a low of minus 2 degrees on Saturday and a top of just 11 degrees.
More rain was expected to fall on Thursday, most likely during the afternoon and evening.
The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast between six and 20 millimetres.
