A man has been caught in connection with trying a door handle to see if it was unlocked.
The sneak tried the door in Campbell Street, Renfrew, just before dark last night.
But the female resident spotted him and immediately called in police.

The door was in fact locked and he got away with nothing.
Officers were in the area and arrived at the scene very quickly at 7.40pm.
They spotted him nearby and he bolted.
But he was caught after a short chase and taken into custody.
A 31-year-old man was charged with an offence where it was likely the circumstances showed a break-in was being attempted.
