Snoop has been found alive

An elderly rescue dog who vanished while out of a walk with his owner has been found alive after a mammoth 10 day search.

Snoop, the Springer Spaniel, 11, is almost blind, partially deaf and had had his vocal chords cut when he was used a a hunting dog in a previous life.

And when he pulled his owner, Nicole Clarke, off her feet at Sydenham's Inverary Park last month, the first sighting of him was on railway tracks.

But Nicole was determined to keep working to find her little dog which she'd had for about a year.

A social media campaign swung into action and hundreds of posters were put up in Belfast.

And last night as hope started to fade, the pair were finally reunited.

Nicole said: "Thank you so much everyone. He's exhausted bless him but other than that I think he's going to be just fine. I have a vet appointment for a once over. Miracles really do happen.

"Everyone had a part to play in bringing snoop home but I want to say a special thank you to Leanne McAuley and Jackie Petrie. I couldn't have got through this with out you and will be forever grateful.
