Snoop Dogg "loves" Jake Paul after making winning bets on his boxing fights

Rap icon Snoop Dogg has declared he "loves the Paul brothers" after winning bets on Jake and Logan's boxing fights.

YouTube stars are divisive figures across the entertainment industry, and have drawn mixed reactions in the boxing world after their transition into the sport. But they have a fan in musician Snoop Dogg, who helped to promote Jake's biggest-selling fight to date against Ben Askren in April last year.

Snoop has been a long-time fan of boxing, and appeared on commentary for the younger Paul brother's two fights on the Triller platform against Askren and basketball star Nate Robinson. The rapper helped his quick knockout victories become even more viral with his outrageous calls, and is said to have made numerous big money bets on Jake's bouts.

And speaking with Logan on his podcast Impaulsive , Snoop claimed that he was "going against the grain" by publicly showing his support for the Pauls, in particular Jake. “You know I f*** with your bro, man,” the rapper said.

“I've been betting on him, I've been rocking with him, you understand me? I been going against the grain, f***ing with Jake, you hear me? F*** y’all! I’m with my nephew! I've got his gloves in my room right now, sure enough. I’m with him, so you know I’m betting on him [in his next fight]."

When Logan joked that his brother had probably made Snoop "a lot of money at this point," Snoop replied by saying "I love me some Paul brothers". He also promised to bet on him in his to be announced August 13 fight.

And Snoop believes that the relationship he had with the younger Paul when he was fighting on the Triller platform was akin to Muhammad Ali's famous double-team with broadcaster Howard Cosell. Cosell and Ali would often engage in some of the most memorable interviews of the legendary heavyweight champion's career, and Snoop argues they could have been the same.

"I felt like me and him was like Cosell and Ali," Snoop replied when Logan suggested that he get back commentating his brother's fights. "We were a tandem and we should stay together, let me know when y'all want to do it again, that's the s*** I do."

Jake is expected to return to the ring after an eight-month absence on August 13, but no opponent or broadcaster has been decided as yet. It appears likely that he will stick with Showtime despite joining up with Matchroom Boxing and DAZN to co-promote Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano last month.

And in terms of opponents, Paul has been eyeing up bouts with former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, Love Island star and undefeated professional boxer Tommy Fury or rugby legend Sonny Bill Williams. He most recently teased a bout with Silva, sharing a photo of him as an exterminator ready to take out a spider, which is the fighting legend's ring name.
