Ogbonna, Haller - latest West Ham injury news and potential return dates ahead of Chelsea

West Ham’s players came through their defeat to Spurs earlier this week unscathed ahead of a break of eight days before the host Chelsea at London Stadium in their next fixture.

David Moyes has suffered injuries to key players ahead of the return of the Premier League and it has shown up badly on the pitch as well as West Ham have lost two from two since the restart.

Sebastien Haller and Angelo Ogbonna have missed both games so far, as have Robert Snodgrass and Arthur Masuaku as the Hammers have struggled. Three of those players are key for West Ham, you could argue Masuaku is as well, but they have been costly misses.

Ogbonna has been playing at Hammer of the Year level, Snodgrass’s work ethic and set piece delivery has been missed and Haller’s absence has seen Michail Antonio deployed as a central striker.

The Hammers have a little break in action after two games in four days to restart the campaign but it is all systems go from next Wednesday when they face London rivals Chelsea in E20 with three games in six days following that match that could well determine the Hammers’ survival prospects.

They travel to Newcastle on July 5, host Burnley on the 8th and then travel to Norwich City on July 11 for a massive clash at Carrow Road.

Moyes will hope to have some of his key players back for the three games in six days spurt though there are fears that Snodgrass may be out for the rest of the season with a back problem he suffered in training prior to the restart.

Here is the latest injury news from the Hammers ahead of their match with the Blues next week.
