'SNL': Jennifer Lopez, Scarlett Johansson to host

"Saturday Night Live" could help the Oscar campaigns of Jennifer Lopez, Scarlett Johansson and Eddie Murphy. All will host the NBC late-night show in December.

Lopez will host Dec. 7 for the third time. She could earn her first Oscar nomination for "Hustlers," which earned her the best reviews of her career. She makes an entrance you'll never forget.

Also Dec. 7: DaBaby makes his debut as musical guest.

Johansson hosts "SNL" on Dec. 14 for the sixth time. She is widely expected to earn her first Oscar nomination for "Marriage Story." (Strangely enough, she was not nominated for "Lost in Translation.") This has been the best year of her career; she also stars in "Jojo Rabbit" and "Avengers: Endgame." She is engaged to Colin Jost, co-anchor of "Weekend Update" and a head writer on "SNL."

On Dec. 14, Niall Horan makes his first solo appearance as musical guest. He has appeared on "SNL" as part of One Direction.

"SNL" alum Murphy will host the Christmas show on Dec. 21. He is a potential Oscar nominee for Netflix's "Dolemite Is My Name." Lizzo, who received a leading eight Grammy nominations on Wednesday, will be the musical guest. Her appearance should help her at the Grammys, which will be broadcast Jan. 26 on CBS.

Will Ferrell, another "SNL" alum, will be the host this weekend for the fifth time. King Princess will be the musical guest.
