Sneaker consignment store Flight Club is now sponsoring LeBron James Jr.’s AAU Team

LeBron James Jr. is set to begin his freshman year of high school this fall at basketball powerhouse Sierra Canyon in Chatsworth, California. He is expected to join Dwyane Wade’s son, senior-to-be Zaire Wade, on the boys basketball team according to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times. In the meantime, James Jr. will continue to play for the North Coast Blue Chips AAU program–a team that’s been attracting significant attention from sponsors.

According to a report from Nick DePaula of ESPN, sneaker consignment store Flight Club has signed on to sponsor James Jr.’s AAU program throughout the summer of 2019. As part of this unique relationship, Flight Club will design the team’s home and away Nike jerseys while also providing sneakers, hoodies, basketball towels and duffel bags for each of the players. The young ballers, according to DePaula, will also be laced with limited edition shoes from the Nike LeBron series.

Via ESPN:

The elder James already has hand-picked pairs of basketball shoes from Flight Club’s inventory for players on the team, presumably rare and vintage editions from his longtime Nike signature series now spanning 16 annual models.

First established in 2005 in New York City, Flight Club’s consignment-based brick and mortar stores can also be found in Los Angeles and Miami, featuring over 80,000 total limited-edition sneakers for sale.

While AAU teams have typically been solely sponsored by footwear brands like Nike, Adidas and Under Armour, the addition of Flight Club to the team’s sponsor list adds a new dimension to the summer basketball circuit.

If you are a young baller in the California area this sounds like the AAU program you want to be a part of. The North Coast Blue Chips will be looking fresh for sure, and with the young King on the roster expect the wins to come in bunches.
