Sneak thieves swipe special Celtic medal and cash from care home safe in overnight raid

Burglars swiped a special Celtic medal and cash from a care home in an overnight raid.

Police are probing the theft from Burngrange Nursing Home in Burngrange Park, West Calder.

The Lisbon Lions Centenary Medal, a four-figure some of cash as well as other personal items were stolen from a safe in an office at the West Lothian nursing home.

Thieves struck between 10pm on February 6 and 7am on February 7.

Detective Constable Ross Collett of Livingston CID said “This incident has understandably affected the residents of the nursing home and staff.

"I am appealing to anyone who has information or who may have seen anything in the area at the time to contact police”

Those with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident 0499 of February 7 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
