Leeds is set to get a brand new HMV store just in time for Christmas.
The historic music store has been a staple on the high street for almost a century, but all that was thrown into jeopardy this year with the closure of 27 of its most prominent shops across the country.
Fans feared the worst when closing down posters went up in the windows of the big HMV store in The Core Shopping Centre, but it's clinging on - for now.
However, it will soon close and make way for a brand new store just over the road in St John's Shopping Centre.
The new home for HMV will take over the unit previously occupied by Poundland and although an opening date has not yet been confirmed, things are progressing nicely inside.
A big new sign has gone up at the front of the store and staff began stocking the shelves at the start of this week, with plenty of records to keep vinyl fans happy.
A tweet from the HMV Leeds Twitter account shows rows of DVDs, CDs and vinyls stacked neatly on shelves, suggesting that the store might throw open its doors shortly.
"The St John’s store is almost ready, opening very soon, stay posted for details," a tweet from the account said.
"The Headrow store is still open as usual!"
