DAY 10 OF THE AUSTRALIAN OPEN AT MELBOURNE PARK:-

PLAYERS OF THE DAY: Jaimee Fourlis and Andrew Harris. The Australian wildcard pairing continued their giant-killing charge through the draw to reach the Open mixed doubles semi-finals with a 7-5 7-5 win over fifth seeds Laura Siegemund and Sander Gille.

STAT OF THE DAY: US Open champion Coco Gauff extended her grand slam winning streak to 12 matches with an epic three-hour, seven-minute quarter-final triumph over Marta Kostyuk to remain on track to become the first woman to claim successive grand slam titles since Naomi Osaka three years ago.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "It's just a tennis match," gallant Ukrainian Kostyuk reminded fans of the war going on in her homeland after falling 7-6 (8-6) 6-7 (3-7) 6-2 to fourth-seeded Gauff.

TOURNAMENT SUMMARY: Gauff is guaranteed to return an equal career-high No.3 in the world - or go higher - after making her maiden semi-final at Melbourne Park. Fourlis and Harris have raised hopes of becoming the third all-local wildcard duo to claim an Open trophy in three years following the men's doubles successes of Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis (2022), and Jason Kubler and Rinky Hijikata (2023).
