'Quarantine Rave' at Greater Manchester park caught on Snapchat video - a sea of people were filmed dancing to thumping music

Snapchat footage shows a sea of people dancing to thumping music at an illegal 'Quarantine Rave' at a Greater Manchester park last night.

The video, posted on Saturday night (June 13), shows hundreds of people dancing to thumping music at Daisy Nook Park in Failsworth, Oldham.

A huge sign reading 'Quarantine Rave' can be seen. The video was geotagged at the park.

It is believed two illegal raves were held last night - at Daisy Nook and in Carrington, Trafford.

There were 'huge' police scenes at both.

Pictures show police and paramedics dealing with both illegal events.

Images of revellers dressed up in party gear appearing to stream into the rave in Trafford have also emerged.

According to witnesses, the rave appeared to be around the water treatment centre in front of the paper mill. One person claimed there were 'thousands' of people in attendance.

There have been multiple unconfirmed reports of a stabbing at the Trafford event.

Hundreds of people took to social media on Sunday morning to condemn the actions of ravers during the ongoing pandemic.

Mass gatherings remain illegal as the country begins to emerge from strict coronavirus lockdown measures.

One woman wrote on Facebook: "Every selfish person who went to this last night should be ashamed.

"Stupidity, inconsiderate idiots."

Another posted: "Absolutely disgusted at the Quarantine Rave in Daisy Nook last night. Everyone who attended should be ashamed of themselves."

Somebody else posted: "Absolutel ridiculous. Imagine going to a 'rave' in the middle of such a horrendous pandemic."

Greater Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.

Photographs appeared to capture the moment hundreds of revellers gathered to stream into the illegal rave in Trafford.

Dressed in party gear, those in the crowds appear to be on their way to the event in Carrington, with reports circulating of a stabbing having taken place later in the evening.
